Not sure if you are spotting a trend here, but the wine tasting theme last weekend was International Wine Night. The next stop- Spain. This wine is produced in the northern region that is surrounded by three small villages where the Tempranillo grape thrives. Izadi means nature in Basque language and bodega means cellar in Spanish. I’m only telling you because I had no idea what either of those words meant on the label. 😉
The color is a glossy shade of ruby in the glass. It’s rich and hits your tastebuds head on like a Flamenco dancer wearing stilettos. I loved it! You will probably get a hint of tobacco, but mostly dark fruits and currant as well as cedar and floral notes linger on the finish. We enjoyed this with toasted bread topped with goat cheese, lemon zest, parsley and chives. Delicioso!
This wine can be purchased at Binny’s or your local wine shop for around $17. Thank you Deb for this excellent find!
