Hey there. If you’re grilling burgers and steaks as much as we have been lately, then this wine should be your next one to drink with it.
I’ve seen this label many times before, but truthfully I never gave it a second thought. I admit that since I’ve started writing about wine my tastes have changed and I’m turning a tad wine snob…okay maybe more than a tad. 😉 This wine showed me that I still have a long way to go and I can hop right off of that high horse of mine.
Even though the label says Cabernet, this wine is still a blend of a few other wines and I’n not sure why they still label it that way. My guess is that the main grape needs to be a certain percentage? There’s 7% Petite Syrah, 4% Petite Verdot, 3% Syrah, 1% Cabernet Franc, 3% other red and 75% Cabernet. It’s a beautiful blend and the wine is a gorgeous deep hue when you pour it into the glass. There’s a lot going on with the flavors too with notes of chocolate, spicy clove, cherries and some toasty hazelnut.
If you’re not a fan of red meat, you could always pair this with grilled portabella mushrooms or bruschetta. A great bargain at $12.
Thank you Jen for introducing me to this one!
