    • Spring Wish List 2015

Spring weather is finally here and it makes me want to bust into a happy dance!  Besides enjoying the outdoors with the kids, the warm weather motivates me to rotate everyone’s closets, toss out anything old and see where each wardrobe could use a few key pieces.

Here are a few things that are on my spring wish list:

knit maxi dressMaxi dress.  You could pair it with a denim jacket, add a belt or pair it with a long necklace.  Dresses are so effortless in the summer. I found this one at Nordstrom’s Junior section known as Brass Plum for $39.  The fabric is extremely soft and the cut, super flattering.

      aviator

Sunglasses.  We all need these and I strongly recommend the ones from BP.  I bought a pair last year that lasted into the fall without a scratch on the lenses and I was tough on them, believe me!  For $12 each I bought an oversized black pair and some gold aviators this year.

      Knotted tank

Knotted tank.  Old Navy had these tanks with a knotted back on sale for $3 a piece last weekend.  I bought a couple and so did my shopping buddy.  They’re perfect.  You can wear them to the park, working out or bopping around running errands.

      Kate-Middleton-shoes

Nude heels.  Okay this one is not necessarily warm-weather induced.  I just need a classic pair of shoes and these are great year-round.  They go with everything and make legs look a mile long…plus Kate wears hers over and over again which proves their versatility is Duchess-approved.

      track pant 2

Track pants.  This is one that I would have to try on before I am completely committed, but they look super comfy and are look of the moment.

Any accessories or trends that stand out for you this spring?  Gingham, mesh or maybe something else that strikes a chord with you?

      Toms

Yesterday, I finally got one of the items from my list last year.  Better late than never, right?

    • Wine On Wednesday- Worst Wine

When W.O.W. started a lot of you commented on your favorite wines.  Now it’s time to bring forth the worst.  Let it all out!

This decision was tough, but I think I can safely say that Trader Joe’s Two Buck Chuck tops my undrinkable list.  It was an awesome wine fresh out of college with limited funds and a palette that couldn’t distinguish between an okay wine and a superb one.  I even admit that a couple of years ago, I still drank the Cabernet during the weeknight every so often.  You might even see a bottle or two still lingering in my kitchen because I use them to cook with even though I know you should never cook with a wine that you wouldn’t normally drink.  😉  Do as I say, not as I do.  Guilty.

In terms of a general wine(s) that I avoid, Pinot Grigio and Chianti tie.  Both have a flat taste.  I love oakey whites and fruity, robust reds that give you a pop of flavor instead.

      Your turn.  Go!

    • Wine On Wednesday Zinfandel

      Earthquake 2011 Zinfandel

Did anyone feel the earthquake just north of us last Wednesday?  I think it is only fitting that this wine take the wine of the week because Earthquake Zinfandel is extraordinary.  It’s robust, fruity and a little spicy with a loamy finish.  We ordered a bottle with a good friend one evening and sip after sip, this wine proved to be delicious throughout the entire meal.   The winery that produces it also makes 7 Deadly Zins.  The story behind the name of the wine came from the fact that the vines were planted in the Lodi region the same year as San Francisco’s great earthquake of 1906.  For about $24 you can find this at Binny’s or many other local wine retailers.  Drink a glass today to appease the earthquake gods, you won’t regret it.

      Cheers my dears!
